Is it “Daylight Savings Time” with<\/strong> an S,\u00a0or “Daylight Saving Time” without<\/strong> the S?<\/p>\n

We hear this question a lot.\u00a0 Technically, there is no S in the term, it’s “Daylight Saving Time”.\u00a0 Why?\u00a0 Here in the US, you might say “because federal statute 15 USC Subchapter IX entitled ‘Standard Time’ says so.”<\/p>\n

Think of it as “daylight-saving time”, with a hyphen. Except don’t put a hyphen, and capitalize every word.<\/p>\n

Don’t ask me what they call it in other languages… I’m doing good to explain it in English!\u00a0 Yeah, English is hard.<\/p>\n
