Two bills are now active in the Oregon senate:<\/p>\n
SB 690 would abandon DST in the state at some (currently unspecified) date.\u00a0 There is no language in this bill to submit the measure to the voters.<\/p>\n
SB 99 would submit the measure to the voters.\u00a0 If the legislation is approved, and then the ballot measure is approved by the voters of the state at the next general election, would abolish DST in Oregon in 2021.<\/p>\n
However, there is another clause that if California or Washington passes similar legislation, the Legislative Council will notify the appropriate Senate and House committees.\u00a0 If this occurs, there is some likelihood that the state legislature would act sooner than 2021, or without requiring the approval of the voters.<\/p>\n
