Massachusetts has a bill filed in September 2015 that would commission a study of the impact of changing the state’s time zone from Eastern Time to Atlantic Time.<\/p>\n

Normally I search pretty rigorously for phrases relating to “daylight saving time” and “time zone”, but I’ve missed any reference to this bill, until today.<\/p>\n

The bill as written would form the commission which was to convene its first meeting no later than January 1, 2016, and report its findings no later than January 1, 2017.\u00a0 Senator John Keenan is listed as the bill’s sponsor.<\/p>\n

According to the Bill History tab of the bill’s page<\/a> on the state’s legislative site, there was a hearing scheduled on October 30, 2015, but no additional information could be found relating to this effort.<\/p>\n

Time Zone Report has sent an email to Sen. Keenan requesting more information.<\/p>\n
