Following Daylight Saving Time legislation in the US

Michigan – 2016

Status Summary

One bill has been introduced in the Michigan legislature late in the 2015 session, and will likely still be under consideration in the state’s 2016 session:

  • HB 4986 sponsored by Representative Peter Lucido proposes to exempt the state from DST (stopping DST).  The bill would take effect 90 days after enacted.

Legislation Intent

This bill proposes to drop DST.  If the bill is enacted less than 90 days prior to the end of the 2016 DST, the bill could cause the state to exempt itself in an untimely manner.

Note: This bill could technically be considered a 2015 bill.
