Illinois Representative Bill Mitchell introduced HB 1562 into the state’s House of Representatives yesterday February 9, which:
Provides that daylight saving time shall be the year-round standard time of the entire State. Effective July 1, 2015.
The bill received its first reading and was referred to the House Rules Committee on February 9, as well.
Note that Year-Round DST is not permitted by federal statutes, so – in the opinion of Time Zone Report – this bill will likely be killed by the Rules Committee. See more information from our phone call with the US DOT.
